All students who enter Tangaroa College will be provided with the best opportunities to be successful in their chosen pathway. Their personalised pathway will allow for academic success or a vocational success. From Year 9 to Year 13 our students will be guided, supported, valued, and cared for. Their chosen pathway will provide them many wonderful choices equal to others in Aotearoa to attend University, Technical institutes, gain apprenticeships, selection to sports academies, or enter the workforce. During their time at Tangaroa College our students will be challenged, committed, and learn to be resilient.

So, their dream is our dream.

As a college we have wonderful facilities and college grounds that supports student success. Our students will have opportunities to join cultural groups, play in a college sports team, attend college camps, be involved in a performance group, and attend off site trips.

All the staff at Tangaroa College are dedicated and hard working. Our teaching staff are exceptional in their area of curriculum expertise and will work alongside you as a whanau so you can understand what is required from your child to be successful.

Our student expectations are:

  • All students arrive on time for the school day so they can be ready to learn.
  • All students come equipped with the correct gear, so they are ready to learn.
  • All students will care & support each other from Year 13 to Year 9.
  • All students will respect others in our college.
  • All students will be positive role models in our community by the way they look in their grooming and appearance, by the way they wear our college uniform and by the way they conduct themselves.

To our whanau:

  • Have your child prepared and ready to be at school on time.
  • Have your child ready and prepared for the school day with the correct equipment.
  • Engage with us as a college about your child so we together can help them be successful.

It is an honour and a privilege to lead & serve as Tumuaki of this wonderful college and community.
