Health Science Academy’s (HSA) parents’ evening was planned to be held at school with guest speakers, Q & A sessions, and snacks. But due to the recent lockdown, the event was in danger of being cancelled so we decided to hold an online meeting with the families of HSA.

Our students were already familiar with Google Meet, an online video conferencing platform used during online classes. They became the guides and helpers to our Aiga who were unfamiliar with the online meeting, helping them interact with the evening speakers.

Overall, the evening was a success. We had informative sessions led by Mr. Choi (director of HSA) and Va Lutui (Representative from Manukau District Health Board). There were laughter, spot prizes, and parents had opportunities to meet with their classmates, families, teachers, and senior leadership team.
