On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I welcome your interest in Tangaroa College.

Tangaroa College is a secondary school that provides high quality education and believes in the pursuit of academic excellence, as well as sporting and cultural activities within an innovative and caring environment. This will be achieved by a school-wide philosophy that reflects core values, positive expectations and high standards of discipline.

Our programmes are designed to teach the New Zealand Curriculum and to improve the students’intellectual and academic capabilities. We expect our students to be successful and move on to tertiary training or suitable vocational opportunities with a focus on life long learning and self improvement. All students are encouraged and challenged to attain their full potential in preparation for their future.

Tangaroa College’s facilities offer the very best learning environments with new and innovative learning areas being built as the school grows. The school has an extensive programme of maintaining and improving its physical resources.

The school has an outstanding staff who are well-qualified, hard-working and committed to providing the best possible classroom environment to support the learning of students. They teach with passion and provide opportunities not always found in other secondary schools.
